The bottom-opening skip has been especially designed for evacuating tunnelling debris via a storage hopper or directly into a truck.
This skip is completely autonomous. It is the full skip’s own weight which generates the energy needed to open the gate using two hydraulic accumulators on the bale arm.  Each time the skip is placed on the ground and the bale arm released for filling, the accumulator cylinders contract and the skip is ready for a new cycle.

The hydraulic components of the debris skip

  • 2 vertical accumulator cylinders linked to the bale arm
  • 2 cylinders for the gate control
  • 1 distributor to fully open the gate

Control system for the hydraulic debris skip

Manual via a rope attached to the distributor or via a radio control.

Discharging via gravity. The bottom is formed by two reinforced articulated gates.
